The Para-Docks

They had arrived at the Para-Docks, where they could see many boats anchored by the harbour and the vast ocean ahead. There were also some small shops and merchants for people to visit where they could barter to their heart’s content. The first thing on the three girls’ mind when they set foot at Para-Docks was food. They walked around to see what some of the merchants were selling and they stumbled upon an interesting character. A merchant named Shawn who was very young and around the same age as the girl. “Come one come all for the best bun rolls and dumplings around town at affordable prices!” he exclaimed. The smell of the food was inescapable, Reina pulled out the necessary amount of coinage requested by the merchant and acquired the food for the three of them.

As they were about to part ways with the merchant, he spoke up, “Wait, you don’t want to spoil your appetite by just walking and eating! Why don’t you check out the theatre nearby? There are seats there as well as some free entertainment for today!” Intrigued by his offer, Nadya, Jiyah, and Reina headed towards the theatre to see what kind of performance would be happening.

They waited at the entrance of the small theatre for someone to greet them at the counter. After a few seconds of waiting, from under the counter popped up a familiar face. It was merchant Shawn again but he looked slightly different this time wearing some glasses and slightly changing his hair. “Welcome to the theatre! My name is Sean and I will help guide you to your seat!” The three looked puzzled for a second, “Hey aren’t you the same merchant we met out front?” Asked Jiyah. “Oh you must have met my brother Shawn! He’s a nice guy but I’m Sean!” he responded. Deciding not to question it any further, Shawn led them to their seats and he took out his hat to request for tips. Reina being the kind hearted person she was, dropped a silver coin for him and he walked away with an extra spring in his step.

There were a few other people in the audience about to take in the show. Entering on the stage was someone Nadya, Jiyah, and Reina had seen before, it was Remy the Jester. He was up on the stage making jokes like he did at the arena. Reina could only cover her eyes as she felt embarrassed by some of the jokes Remy was telling. The crowd was very unsatisfied with his act and were starting to tell him to get off the stage. Jiyah on the other hand, enjoyed seeing the people getting riled up.

As the audience got more restless, Merchant Shawn began walking around with a basket of tomatoes selling them for 10 copper coins for each. A majority of the audience paid for the tomatoes and began throwing them at the jester on stage but once again, Remy just dodge most of the tomato, dancing off the stage.

As Jiyah was being entertained by the flying tomatoes, Nadya was looking at a couple of people who seemed somewhat suspicious. Jiyah, noticing that Nadya wasn’t paying attention to the stage, asked her what was wrong. “I think those two guys over there are following us.” Nadya whispered to Jiyah. However, Jiyah was having a blast and thought Nadya was being too serious. So they stayed until the show was over but Nadya still couldn’t shake the feeling that they were being followed.

Reina was glad that the show was finally over and they were out of the theatre. Jiyah really enjoyed herself and Nadya was still vigilant but didn’t want to worry Reina. As they were about to set out to the docks a massive downpour of rain began to fall. “Looks like we won’t be able to set sail today, let’s stay at one of the lodges here for the night!” Reina said. And they made their way to the nearest lodge to escape the monsoon.
