Trapped

David and Siri ran as fast as they could but they were still a great distance from the colony. Behind them was a gigantic mechanical unit that no one had seen before. It stood about 20 feet tall with four limbs carrying a massive canon. Its limbs were locked onto the ground and the cannon began to light up, indicating that it was charging up.

They continued to run but their path was blocked by a small group of bruiser units ahead of them. They attempted to turn around to find an alternative route but a couple more droids appeared, ready to hem them in. With enemies coming on both sides, David had to think fast. He pushed Siri away from danger and he rushed towards the Metadross by himself.

Running full speed with his spear, he drew his weapon back before thrusting it with all his might against his target. As the tip of the spear made contact against the Metadross armor, David’s weapon shattered and he was left holding the shaft in his hand. He learned first-hand how ineffective normal weapons were against the Metadross.

Without his weapon, one of the bruiser units took a swing and knocked David against the ground. After the hard hit, David attempted to get back on his feet but he could not. Slowly, the Metadross made their way towards David to finish him off. As they were moving towards him, a textbook was thrown and hit against one of the robots.

Siri stood holding another book in her dominant hand with her backpack open. The droids had their attention diverted and now turned to face the girl who had just struck them. Once they began following her, Siri ran in the opposite direction of David. When David saw the horde of robots leaving him, he got up to catch up with his friend. He knew he wouldn’t hear the end of it from Siri about how a book had saved him from certain doom.

As Siri was running away, she looked back to see how far her pursuers were, but she tripped on the ground. Because of this, the Metadross had caught up and surrounded her. The mechanical units had her pinned down preventing her escape.

David saw what was happening in the distance. With his friend in distress, he ran as fast as he could to save her. Without a weapon, he desperately reached out with his hand, but he would never make it. As he was about 2 meters away, the cannon from the titan Metadross unit unleashed a devastating discharge that struck where Siri and the smaller Metadross were. David was also caught in the explosion, reaching out his hand toward his friend weakly before falling unconscious on the ground.
