Final Battle?

Duncan, Da-Yong, and Nilay ran until they saw Kime within their sights. Kime was just standing there waiting as if he was expecting them all along. “Give it up Kime, you got nowhere else to run.” Da-Yong challenged him. Kime laughed, “Run? This is my fortress and my domain! Do you really think you can beat me here?!” Out of nowhere a confident but kind voice from Nilay came out, “Yup!” That really angered Kime as it was supposed to be a rhetorical question. In his rage, he clicked a button on his keyboard and another containment box rose from the ground. However, there was something different about this one, the aura that this creature gave out was none that they had experienced before. Slowly the containment box was opening but the creature inside could not wait. It busted open from it’s prison and emerged as the legendary creature that they have only heard tales about the Yeti Dragon!

The beast had the wings and the head of a dragon, while its limbs were that of a yeti. The creature was massive, at least 7 times their size and caused the ground to shake when it walked. Duncan, Da-Yong, and Nilay braced themselves for what was going to be the toughest challenge on their journey. Nilay pulled out his bo staff, Duncan used his ice bending to create a hockey stick and Da-Yong had his fist all fired up. “Pst, aren’t you going to use the cool fire sabre move?” Duncan whispered to DY. “Uh, I still haven’t mastered how to keep it stable for a long period of time…” DY replied softly in hesitation. “Da-Yong! We would look so much cooler right now if you had that technique mastered!” Nilay added on. Kime was watching this happen in the background and he had enough of their silliness and ordered the beast to strike.

Nilay jumped up into the air and using his bo staff created a fury of air blades and aimed them straight against the colossal creature. It was completely unphased by the attack and retaliated by flapping its wings with a heavy gust knocking Nilay against the wall. Da-Yong figured it was his turn and blew fire directly into the monster’s face. Again to not much effect and the beast shot a huge blast of fire from its mouth right at Da-Yong who stood his ground. He was able to withstand the attack but he definitely took some significant damage. Lastly, Duncan created a bunch of ice pucks on the ground and began slap shooting them right at the beast with incredible speed and precision. Everything made contact against the beast but nothing seemed to bother the creature at all. After about the 10th shot the beast slammed on the ground with one of its fists and created a huge rock wave that Duncan couldn’t react to because of the shaking floor and took a hit from the attack.

After the solo exchanges the trio quickly got back on their feet and realized they had to start working collaboratively. Nilay used his air scooter technique and Da-Yong used his jet propulsion technique to rocket himself toward their target. The yeti dragon was about to use its wings to repel the two benders back but Duncan gathered all the water he could and splashed it onto its wings. He then froze its wings so it couldn’t create a gust to attack back. That gave Nilay and Da-Yong a chance to spring a melee attack and they took the opportunity to do so. Da-Yong threw a fury of fire punches right at the abdomen of the beast while Nilay smack the beast’s shins with the bo staff continuously. All to no effect and the beast swiped the floor with its right arm missing both of them but it followed up with a fire breath directed at Nilay. He quickly spun his staff quickly to deflect the fire but it was so overpowering it pushed him back and he fell against Duncan. Da-Yong began to throw fire-shurikens at the beast but eventually its wings thawed out and without Da-Yong noticing, it used one of its wings and slammed it against Da-Yong.

All three of the benders reassembled and got together for one united attack. Duncan released a giant water vortex that was encircled by Da-Yong’s fire and Nilay’s wind. The tri-attack went full force at the beast and made a direct hit in the chest. The beast finally showed a sign of a wound, which meant the benders knew this beast was no longer invincible. Unfortunately the wound began to close up and regenerate as if nothing had happened. Kime had fired a syringe at the Yeti-Dragon and he explained that he had injected lizard genes into the beast allowing it to have the regenerating abilities of a lizard. Undeterred, the heroes looked to press the attack but as the beast unleashed another deafening roar, the trio braced their eardrums and in that moment, the beast swiped the three of them with its claws. Duncan, Da-Yong, and Nilay managed not to get hit by its claw but the momentum from the swing of the arm carried a strong wind that knocked all three of them off balance and against the ground. They tried to get back up but the monster created a strong stream of wind with its wings preventing them from doing so. The benders were clearly out-matched and all hope as it had seemed lost. Kime couldn’t hold back his excitement as the beast slowly approached the trio to land the final strike. However, as it took another step a boulder was launched straight at the side of its head. Then followed another, and another, and another, until a rock slide came flying at the creature. It seemed to annoy the creature more than anything. That little distraction allowed time for Duncan, DY and Nilay to regain their strength and look to their savers: Da-Wei and Chloe:

Da-Wei: Surprised to see us again?

Da-Yong: Yes, actually, how did you…

Nilay: DY! Not the time right now!

Duncan: I know what you are going to say Chloe, we can’t harm this thing because it's an animal and we have to save…

Chloe: What? You crazy?! We got to beat this thing to the ground or it will hurt other poor helpless animals!

(Duncan was in shock but smiled and nodded in agreement)

Da-Yong: So what’s the plan Donuts? You are the brains of the bunch.

Duncan: Actually, I don’t have anything this time.

Da-Wei + Chloe: That’s ok, we got one!

Da-Yong + Duncan: What?!

Nilay: I’m all aboard for it!

(Da-Yong and Duncan looking skeptical)

Da-Wei: Come on give us a chance.

Chloe: Yeah! It's not like we have any other options right now.

(Da-wei and Chloe explain the plan)

Da-Yong: This plan sounds extremely dangerous and high risk…

Duncan: It is also highly improbable that we will succeed…

Nilay: What are we waiting for? LET’S DO IT!

Kime: Enough! I had enough of you teenagers ruining my plan!

Da-Wei: Well actually me and her aren’t teenagers yet, we are only 12…

Chloe: Yeah! He’s right!

Kime: GAHHHHHH! YETI DRAGON ATTACK AND FINISH THEM OFF!

The beast slammed the ground creating a huge rock wave heading straight for the five heroes. Da-Wei and Chloe immediately halted the attack by crashing it with their combined rock wave. The collision created a ramp that allowed Nilay to air-scooter up into the air. The monster noticed that Nilay took to the sky and was ready to knock him down but Da-Wei and Da-Yong combined their rocks and fire together to create flaming meteors and directed them all at the beast. the Yeti-dragon braced itself under siege showing signs of weakness. Da-Yong then shot a salvo of fire missiles into the air and Nilay used his air funnel to direct the missiles right at the creature causing it’s fur to burn. The creature was regenerating but a lot slower than before. Kime then gave it another injection, giving the beast the armor of a turtle’s shell giving it more protection from the attacks. Chloe created two metal hockey sticks and gave one of them to Duncan. Duncan created multiple ice pucks for Chloe to pass them setting Duncan up for one-timers! The sheer velocity from that was enough to shatter through the toughest of turtle shells. It pierced through the shell armor and wounded the beast even more. Kime fired another injection into the mighty beast but this last injection didn’t have the same effectiveness as the others. The Yeti-Dragon began to cry a painful roar, going berserk and no longer listening to Kime. Duncan, Da-Yong and Nilay were confused as to what was happening but Da-Wei and Chloe explained that the constant injections were not stable. The combination of the constant assaults combined with the negative feedback from all the injection was causing the beast to go insane. Chloe and Da-Wei had experienced this earlier in their battle against Nespade and the human ant. Both had negative feedback in the midst of their battle.

Kime was attempting to control the giant beast but to no avail. The beast was uncontrollable and attacked anything in sight. “Ok so it's no longer taking orders from Kime, that’s awesome but what’s the plan now?” Duncan asked the two young siblings. “Uhhhhh, we didn’t think that far ahead. We were hoping that when we got to this point that you would have a plan by now!” Chloe replied with a smile and both thumbs up. Duncan took a huge breath in and then breathed out. “Okay guys, we can do this, follow my lead!”

Da-Yong had the first strike and he shot a charged up fire shuriken right at the beast’s face to draw its attention. The beast reacted by spitting out ice shards right towards Da-Yong but they were intercepted by Chloe who was deflecting all the shards away with the metal bracers on her wrist. While the beast was distracted, Nilay and Duncan were preparing for an attack. The yeti-dragon eventually switched up its attack and came directly at Chloe and she began to run away. Da-wei used his earthbending to turn the black meteor rock he was given into a sword and Da-Yong pulled out the handle he was given and focused on it to create a blue flamed lightsaber. The brothers looked pretty epic as they stood side by side each holding a melee weapon. Chloe used the metal around the room to create chest armor for the two brothers and they charged towards the beast. The creature could see them coming but Chloe divided its attention by throwing a barrage of compressed rock bullets directed to its eyes. For that moment the beast lost sight of both the brothers and from behind, Da-Yong jet propelled himself towards the beast and slashed its right wing. After that hit, Da-Wei tunneled out from the ground and slit the ankle of the beast. In retaliation, the beast’s tail slapped Da-Yong to the ground and as Da-Wei was about to land on his feet, it stomped hard on the ground shaking it and causing Da-wei to fall hard to the floor.

Chloe attempted to rush to their aid but the beast blew a breath of fire and although Chloe avoided taking a critical hit, she still got a nasty burn. The three gathered themselves up but the beast was about to strike again, first targeting Chloe. Before it could Duncan and Nilay shouted for the attention of the beast. When it looked towards their direction, Duncan and Nilay released their combined fully powered up attack: a hurricane! The massive vortex of wind and water spun so fast, it went directly to the giant yeti-dragon and caused the room to be taken down with it. Chloe and Da-Wei created earth shelters for themselves and Da-Yong to brace for the impact of the falling debris.

As the hurricane subsided, Kime got up and was in absolute disbelief. Nilay, Duncan, Da-Yong, Chloe, and Da-wei were still standing. Kime would not accept defeat but as he was about to make a move, a giant arm broke through the giant rubble and the yeti-dragon dug itself out of the mess. “You have got to be kidding me… we threw our strongest attack at that thing!” Nilay exclaimed in disbelief. Chloe and Da-Wei were exhausted and it seemed Duncan was almost out of gas too. All hope seemed to have been lost but once again, it was always in these moments that seemed to bring out the best in these young heroes. Da-Yong walked up to Duncan and on his way he made sure his brother, Chloe and Nilay were ok. “Hey Donuts, you still got one more plan left in you?” Duncan looked on and laughed, “Hehe, you know I do.” “Alright then let’s do it!” Nilay jumped for joy.

Swinging his bo staff around, Nilay created enough wind to send both Da-Wei and Da-Yong up into the air. Da-Yong and Da-Wei were at the beast’s head level and as the beast was about to slash them in midair, Duncan was one-timed a metal puck towards the beast with the help of Chloe. That distraction gave them enough time for the brothers to jab their swords right at the eyes of the beast. The yeti-dragon was now blind and attacking based on animal instinct. It was flailing around and by slamming some of the debris it managed to hit all five of the heroes to the ground.

Undeterred, they got back up one more time to finish the fight. “Alright here’s our chance, it's now or never, let it rip Nilay!” Da-Wei called out. Nilay pulled out the air scooter technique and began circling around the beast with his bo staff to create a giant tornado surrounding it. The tornado continued to grow and when the wind speed was at optimum level Nilay called out, “Alright guys, DO IT!” Duncan, Da-Yong, Chloe, and Da-wei all jumped into the tornado that Nilay had created and was continuing to maintain. Duncan and Chloe held on to each other’s hand as did Da-yong and Da-Wei. When it was the perfect time, they jumped out of the tornado with incredible velocity: Duncan and Chloe appeared on the right side of the beast while on the left side was Da-Yong and Da-Wei. Both duos had their dominant fists ready: Da-wei and Chloe’s infused with an earth gauntlet, Da-Yong with a fist of raging fire, and Duncan with a fist of cold ice. As they came from opposite sides they simultaneously landed a solid punch right at the jaws of the legendary beast. The beast’s skull shattered from the combined force of the attack and it fell heavily to the ground unconscious. As the four heroes were about to hit the ground hard, Nilay managed to use the last of his energy to give them an air cushion landing.

The heroes were still conscious but they could barely move as they noticed Kime making his way towards them. “So, that is true trust and friendship huh? I never thought it could be quite that magnificent.” Kime said in awe. The five heroes weren’t sure if he was just playing with their heads but they didn’t have enough strength to defend themselves right now. All of a sudden, a portal opened out of nowhere with a blinding light and out of it appeared a human shaped figure, it was the Avatar:

Thank you young warriors for all you have done. You have saved the people of this world and the spirit world from a great deal of suffering. (Walks towards the yeti-dragon) This poor creature has been through a great deal of pain. I will relieve it of its agony. (touches the beast with his hand and the beast returns into a spirit of a tiny little yeti-dragon) And you my old friend Kime have caused great grief and anguish on not only humans and animals of this world but also have angered the spirit world. You will be judged and punished for your actions severely in the spirit world. (Kime willingly accepts his arrest and is brought into the portal) Thank you again young heroes, I know there isn’t much I can do or give to you now but I hope our paths cross again someday.

With that the portal shuts leaving the heroes all quiet and by themselves. They had done it and were ready to celebrate but of course nothing comes just so easy for these heroes. “WARNING, self-destruct sequence activated. This place will explode in 20 minutes, please evacuate immediately!” announced some machine sounding lady. “Never a dull moment eh? Let’s get going everyone.” Da-Yong calmly told everyone. “Wait! We have to release all the animals and prisoners too!” Chloe reminded them. “Never the easy way for us eh?” Duncan sighed. And they rushed towards all the prison cells to release all the animals and help guide the trapped scientists and villagers that were brought to be test subjects for Kime’s experiments.
