Taken

As they made their way back, they could see fires throughout the village and some Relevant Soldiers that were in no shape to fight. They walked until they saw a couple of familiar faces, Jovan and Gurshaan were lying on the floor unconscious but thankfully still breathing. Armaan and Greninja quickly jumped in to pull them to a safer place to allow them to rest. After taking care of Jovan and Gurshaan, Greninja noticed someone caught in a pile of rubble. They immediately removed the debris aside and pulled the body out. It was another person they recognized, Duncan, and with effort they attempted to bring him back to consciousness.

Duncan roused from his coma but he was still very weak. Armaan asked Duncan what had happened while him and Aumber were up on the mountain. “The Chieftain… go, go protect...they are…” he pulled out all the strength he could to speak but he was still very weak. Armaan told him to save his energy and once he propped him to a more comfortable spot, he and Greninja raced towards the Chieftain Hut hoping they weren’t too late.

In the distance they could see that the Chieftain Hut had been ruined but still stood standing. Upon entering, Armaan yelled for Gunraj but there was no answer. As they surveyed the area, they found Gunraj’s Arcanine had been hit with a tranquilizer dart. Armaan checked its vitals and thankfully Arcanine was still responsive and alive. After assessing the pokemon, Greninja could hear a voice in another room. It sounded like someone was in tears and Greninja began to follow the cry with Armaan following close behind.

When they arrived into the room where the sound was coming from, they found a girl in tears with her pokemon lying on the floor, it was Neha and her Alakazam. Her pokemon was badly hurt but still alive. Armaan carefully kneel down to speak with Neha to ask her what had happened. Unfortunately, Neha was still in too much tears to reply. Finally, Aumber arrived into the room and her presence gave Neha some relief. Aumber kindly asked Neha to tell her what had happened:

Neha: They… they took her! Gunraj! They took her!

Aumber: I know. We will get her back.

Armaan: Why would they take Chieftain Gunraj?

Neha: The meteorite. It's hidden in an encrypted temple deep within the forest where only a select few can be granted passage through.

Armaan: So Gunraj is able to get them access to the meteorite? We have to stop them!

Aumber: No Gunraj can’t help them. She isn’t one of the few who can do it.

Armaan: Wait what then why...

Neha: She lied to the General when he was here threatening us that if we didn’t surrender the person who could lead him to the meteorite he would destroy the village.

Aumber: So Gunraj surrendered herself to protect both the person and the village.

Armaan: Who was she trying to protect?

Neha: Me.
