War Council Meeting

In the war council meeting room were General Corrin, Major Sam, Colonel Justine, Chloe, Da-Wei, Zaid, Armaan. Zaid and Armaan’s pokemon were recovering from their intensive battles. The general congratulated the two young pokemon trainers for qualifying on the team. He then moved into more pressing matters such as how they were going to counteract the pokemon invasion. Before getting to the plan, he took the time to share with everyone a story.

Long ago, before General Corrin became a general, he and a close friend were explorers and treasure hunters. They would traverse a multitude of terrains: caves, deserts, forest, temples and many other places to seek and collect legendary artifacts. This duo was well known for their tenacity to survive every mission they took on. They lived for the thrill of possibilities.

One day, while they were out in the forest, they saw a meteorite with an ominous green glow in the middle of a barren crater. The two adventurers moved closer to the mysterious rock in order to study it. They discovered some fascinating properties that had never been found on Earth. They wanted to further study the cryptic object but as they were about to leave with their prize an army of pokemon surrounded them.

Although it would have made sense to flee, General Corrin had been through many difficult challenges before and this was no exception. Instead of leaving the area, he stood close to the meteorite. One of the pokemon reacted to his decision and threw a punch toward him. Lucky for James, his friend jumped in and intercepted the attack. Unfortunately in doing so, he suffered several broken bones in his rib and fell to the ground unable to move. James realizing his mistake turned towards his friend but he was filled with fear from being outnumbered by the pokemon around him. Unable to match them in strength, he fled the area leaving both his friend and the meteorite behind.

Ever since that day, James vowed to protect as many people as he could from the violent pokemon that were out in the wilds and to reclaim the meteorite in order to help the city. Those were his major reasons for starting ‘The Relevant,’ creating a special force that could combat against the Pokemon invasion.

Things were starting to make sense for Armaan but he was wondering why James was more accepting of his and Zaid’s pokemon. Although James wasn’t fond of all pokemon, he understood that in times of war, you would need to have some unlikely allies. He was willing to trust the pokemon who had strong bonds with their trainers.

After some more of his story was covered, the general began to give an overview of the plan. The main mission was to have a small force venture out into the forest in order to locate the meteorite. General Corrin was very confident that the meteorite could provide resources to protect the city.

Chloe jumps up in excitement, “Ah ha, I got it! So the plan is you want to send me, Da-Wei, and the two fresh recruits with their pokemon into this epic quest! I’m all in! She guessed the plan correctly but she had skipped some steps in between. At their current state they required another potential ally. Everyone stared at General Corrin with a look of confusion wondering who this final mysterious person could be. “We must find the Night Rider!” He uttered out as the room fell in silence.

There were mixed emotions in the air. Major Sam, Colonel Justine, Chloe and Da-Wei were outraged that the general suggested such an idea. Meanwhile, Armaan and Zaid stood confused. Night Rider? The same Night Rider that they have heard and read about in comics? Justine informed them that the Night Rider in the comics were based off the real Night Rider they were discussing. The comics don’t do justice to how they portray the real deal. The Night Rider was a vigilante who took the law into his own hands. He single handedly disrupts hidden illegal activities that occur within the city but has stolen many medical supplies from citizens who needed them most. He doesn’t hold back, he takes out his opponents by almost any means necessary, leaving them heavily injured and in hospital for years. Having a vigilante run around with that much power without moral standard was a huge concern for the majority of the team.

Despite the opposition, General Corrin stood his ground and continued to discuss their next move. He revealed some information about an underground fighting tournament that the Night Rider was rumoured to be participating in. The general had a feeling that the Night Rider would appear to win the tournament because of the large cash prize meaning this would be the perfect opportunity to meet with the Night Rider and possibly negotiate with him.

The plan sounded simple and straightforward to Armaan and Zaid but what they didn't know was that ‘The Relevant’ already has a history with the Night Rider. None were exactly positive experiences, including an event that happened not too long ago involving Chloe and Da-wei. Their frustration was understandable but General Corrin reminded them of the situation they were in. Time was of the essence and the city was getting weaker everyday. Realizing their options were not plentiful, they agreed to follow through on the condition that this would be their final attempt of negotiation and if the Night Rider didn’t comply he must be stopped. Without hesitation the general agreed and revealed to everyone the plan.
