Side Adventures

The band of five were still making their way towards Marvel Mountain. On this particular night they found a decent spot to set up camp for the night and rest up before continuing on their journey. In the midst of the campfire they were enjoying each other’s company and Duncan began thinking and asked the two younger siblings, “So where did you two learn to be so crafty and sneaky in battle? Master Ruthar couldn’t have taught you all that.” Chloe and Da-Wei looked at each other with a bit of hesitation in their eyes. “Um, do you promise never to bring this up with mom and dad?” Chloe and Da-Wei asked their older siblings. Both Duncan and Da-Yong obviously agreed as they could probably use this as future leverage but Nilay interrupted, “I don’t promise anything!” Immediately, Duncan and Da-Yong went for Nilay but it was all in good fun and so Chloe began to share the story:

So it all began when Master Ruthar, Da-Wei and I were done training at home and so we set out to find you guys. We went through a lot of things and fought a lot of things and there was this thingy thing that…

Almost simultaneously Duncan, Da-Yong, and Nilay yelled out, “DA-WEI YOU TELL THE STORY PLEASE!” And so Chloe stopped talking and allowed Da-Wei to take over:

So our story with the two earthbenders takes place before they came into Da-Nines village where they were in a different village that had a harbour full of ships known as Port Drac. They arrived in the area with Master Ruthar and on their way to reunite with their older siblings. Immediately, they went towards the marketplace to get some food. The two kids wanted to explore the place and so teacher Ruthar allowed them to wander off for a bit as he went to take care of a few errands.

After splitting apart, they suddenly heard a man screaming, “NOT MY CABBAGES!” There were pirates invading the market place stealing everything in sight except for the cabbage cart. Many people were panicking and running away. All except the two brave earthbenders. They stood their ground and used their earth bending to take out as many pirates as they could. The dynamic duo put up a solid fight but the pirates were too great in numbers. They resorted to dirty tactics and threw a smoke bomb beneath the feet of Chloe and Da-wei causing them to fall unconscious and taken away as prisoners.

As the two came to their senses, they noticed they were tied up in ropes and locked up in wooden cages. These were not amateur pirates because they were well aware that earthbenders couldn’t bend rope or wood. The duo struggled for a bit, but it wasn’t before long that the door opened and entered a female pirate with a couple of guards behind her. She introduced herself as Captain Lehcelmi (brown bounty), rumored to be one of the most feared pirates of the sea. Da-Wei asked “What do you plan to do with two innocent children?” With a smile she told them, “I plan to trade you in for a big prize, some people will pay quite an amount for two hardworking earthbenders.” She added that if they follow everything she commanded like good little children, life would be easier for everyone. Of course, Chloe and Da-Wei did everything in their power to resist but they could also sense a very intimidating aura about this woman. When she spoke it would send shivers down their spines and as she left, they breathed a huge sigh of relief.

What had only been a couple days has felt like an eternity for the young pupils. They were beginning to wonder if they would ever be reunited with their brother or family. Hope was fading, until one night there was a heavy storm that could be heard from inside of the ship. The waves were crashing against the ship, the storm thundering, and suddenly, there was a loud noise from outside. Some of the pirate members were panicking and yelling. Chloe and Da-wei attempted to decipher what the pirates were saying. What they heard was Captain Lehcelmi calling orders to the crew and a brief mention of a sea monster outside. Through the window the two could see waves and a giant tentacle that was slamming against the vessel. They never saw the face of the creature that was attacking but they knew it was massive and it eventually destroyed the giant vessel scattering all members onboard onto the unfriendly sea. Some were swallowed up by the sea, others were food for the mysterious creatures of the sea, and the lucky few survived and were washed away onto land in an area nearby known as the Archarrya Plains.

The two earthbenders woke up from their slumber to find themselves untangled from their binds and inside of a hut. They had been taken care of by someone but weren’t sure who. When they got up there was no one around so they left the hut to explore the area. Everyone in the village noticed the out of place earth benders and most were too scared to approach the two. Chloe was trying her best to be friendly but she would always come across with a very awkward facial expression. Da-Wei was trying to ask questions to figure out where they were and who had rescued them. He managed to find out that they were in a small village in the Archarrya Plains but still no knowledge as to who had rescued them.

They wandered around the village for some time until Da-Wei noticed someone who stood out from the rest of the villagers. He was quite tall and he had a hood over his head so you couldn’t see his forehead or his eyes too well. Although Da-Wei was a bit intimidated by the man’s statue he walked toward him, “Excuse me sir, do you happen to know…?” They were interrupted with screaming happening around the village. “It's the turtle crabs! They have returned and are attacking the village!” Yelled one of the villagers.” Chloe immediately sprung into action and headed in the opposite direction as everyone. “Come on Da-Wei we got to help these villagers out!” Da-Wei nodded in agreement and before he left, he told the random stranger he met to stay safe.

Chloe and Da-Wei ran to the middle of the village where there were two turtle crabs gathered. They were much larger than expected with one eye, large pincers of a crab and the hard shell of a turtle. Da-Wei and Chloe quickly directed a barrage of rocks towards the creatures but they easily blocked it with their claws. Realizing their current attacks weren’t working they tried to knock the turtle crabs off balance by generating a fissure. Unfortunately that didn’t work either, these creatures were heavier than most combatants they fought and weren’t losing their balance. Frustrated with their results, Chloe decided to take a more direct approach and went for a frontal assault. “Chloe no don’t…” Da-Wei tried to warn her as he knew they wouldn’t stand a chance against the creatures in close combat. They had superior defense and pincers ready to strike, but he couldn’t leave Chloe to charge in alone, so he followed closely behind.

Upon engaging the enemy, Chloe armored herself with all the rocks she could gather up around her body and went flying full speed into one of the crustaceans. She slammed hard against the creature and she bounced off taking some recoil damage from the impact. The enemy on the other hand seemed relatively unharmed. Chloe got up but now favouring one of her shoulders. That last attack took more out of her than she realized. One of the turtle crabs reached out its pincher claw right at Chloe who was slow to react. Thankfully before the pincer could close on her, Da-Wei threw a gigantic stone column at the claw to prevent it from closing. That gave Chloe enough time to move out of the way and Da-Wei focused a fury of stone shards toward one of the turtle crabs. In reaction to this, it turned its back against the attack and slowly began to walk backwards towards the two earthbenders. It was acting as a shield for the other one to get within range to strike. They were beginning to close the gap and the two benders were running out of space to maneuver. In their moment of desperation, Chloe came up with a crazy idea that Da-Wei was completely against but he knew it was now or never. Again, Chloe ran full speed charging directly at the crustacean walking backwards. As she was about to slam into the creature again she protected her entire body with all the earth she could muster. This time, the results were different because right on Chloe’s impact, Da-Wei shook the foundation beneath the Crustacean and the one walking as a shield toppled over and fell onto it’s fellow partner. As they were trying to regain their stance, Chloe and Da-Wei quickly trapped the crabs in a prison of slab preventing their escape.

The two earthbenders high fived each other in celebration. Some of the villagers noticed what had happened and began cheering for them in unison. However, the celebration was short lived as three more turtle crabs emerged onto the scene. Da-Wei and Chloe were back in their battle stance with the crowd cheering them on but they were extremely worn out from their battle. The triple crustaceans walked towards them without much resistance and the cheers began to turn into fear once again. As the pincers were armed and ready to strike, the stranger that Da-Wei spoke with earlier came into the fray. “Excuse me sir, but…” an explosion appeared as Da-Wei was about to finish his statement. The two benders had no idea where it came from but it happened again and again and again. Explosion after explosion that weren’t very accurate but was around the vicinity of the turtle crabs. Eventually the creatures were frightened off by the relentless detentions that they fled and crawled back into the plains. Chloe and Da-Wei were shocked in amazement as they looked at the stranger with his hood now removed. He had an eye shaped tattoo on his forehead. He was none other than the legendary combustion man!

Da-Wei: No way, you are…

Chloe: SPARKY SPARKY BOOM MAN! My brother always talks about you!

Da-Wei: Why does everyone always have to interrupt my…

????: Actually I’m not the person you are thinking of.

Chloe: Oh… So Mini Boom Boy?

Da-Wei: Wait what?

Armaan: My name is Armaan but I believe the person you are referring about was a distant relative of mine.

Chloe: Oh my gosh! It is Mini Boom Boy!

Da-Wei: I still don’t understand, why did you wait to show yourself? Why didn’t you just come in and save everyone right away?

Armaan: Umm, well you see, it’s because…

“Boo! Get him out of here! You are not wanted here!” The crowd said in disgust. Chloe and Da-Wei were not sure as to why the people were frightening Armaan away.

Da-Wei: Whoa stop. Why are you people discouraging the man who just saved your life?

Village 1: Ha! You seem to have no knowledge about what his kind have done! The combustion clan have caused nothing but destruction to our village.

Villager 2: Yeah! Everytime their kind come around here there is nothing but trouble.

Villager 3: But to think that there was one living amongst us all this time…

Villager 1: He must be banished! He is a bad omen and will bring destruction to us all!

Chloe: Hey that is way too extreme! He just saved your town!

Villager 2: For all we know, he was the one who dragged those crustaceans into our village!

Da-Wei: What kind of logic is that? You guys are…

Armaan: Hey guys it’s fine let it go…

Chloe: What?! No Armaan you can’t just let these people treat you like this. Its, its…

Villager 3: Fine fine, we will compromise. Since he did scare the attacking creatures away we will give you until tomorrow morning to pack up the things in your hut and leave.

Da-Wei: Wow you guys are the most generous bunch of villagers I have ever met…

Chloe: But that is, but, ARGH!!!!!!

Armaan: Ok, I will pack my things and leave by tomorrow morning. Thank you for your kindness up until this point.

The three began to make their way to Armaan’s hut. Chloe and Da-Wei were still incredibly outraged by how the villagers had treated Armaan but there was nothing they could do. During this moment, Da-Wei’s curiosity kicked in and he began to ask Armaan about how he ended up in the Archarrya Plains all by himself. Although Armaan had been a man of few words up until this point, he was willing to share his story with the two fellow earthbenders.

The Combustion Clan was a proud group of warriors who most resemble the fire benders. However, due to their unique ability to conjure up explosions just by breathing, they were feared by the fire nation and forced out of their civilization. From that point on, the clan had gone their separate ways, some lived their lives as hired mercenaries to make a living while others like Armaan wanted to live a quiet life. Armaan’s group was traveling one day and came across a town with a bounty board. Upon looking at the board of bounties, they saw a red bounty enlisted for the infamous Combustion Man. After seeing the bounty, they realized they needed to escape or they might have been caught as well. As they panicked to escape, people noticed them and began chasing after them. This caused their group to split and Armaan still with his powers not completely mastered managed to elude his pursuers. After long travels in search of a place to stay, he finally came across the Archarrya Plains where the population was low and so he has stayed in the village since while covering his identity.

Da-Wei and Chloe gained new perspectives from the story Armaan just shared. It gave them a moment of gratitude that they were very fortunate to live the life they were living. Da-Wei thanked Armaan and in exchange shared their story with him. When Da-Wei finished telling their story, they had arrived back at the familiar hut they started at.

“Hey, you are the one who took care of us!” Chloe exclaimed. Da-Wei nodded and affirmed what he had been thinking the whole time. He asked if there was anything him and Chloe could do to repay him for his kindness. Armaan being the nice guy that told Da-Wei that it was the right thing to do and that he had to make amends for what some of his clan members had caused in the past. “How about a one on one battle before you leave this rotten place?” Chloe challenged. Da-Wei looked at her in disbelief, while Armaan laughed it off but passed on the challenge as it was clear he wasn’t the kind to start a brawl for no reason. Chloe was disappointed but understood it would be disrespectful to persist in asking. So the three gathered into the hut and rest for the next morning.

The Sun rose the next day and Da-Wei had just gotten up while Chloe was still asleep. Da-Wei looked around the room and noticed that Armaan had already left. He was about to head out of the hut for some fresh air until he heard some shouting from a far. Immediately he shook Chloe out of her slumber, “WHO, WHAT, I’M NOT ASLEEP, I’M WIDE AWAKE!” Da-Wei informed her that he could hear screaming out in the village. Chloe automatically thought the turtle crabs had returned but Da-Wei had a gut feeling that this was an entirely different foe.

As they raced out of the hut, they saw the pirates raiding the village for all valuables they could find. Da-wei and Chloe surprised a couple of the pirates and took them out with relative ease. Da-Wei quickly assessed the situation and realized that these were the same goons from Lehcelmi’s group. He could hear cannon fire from a distance and knew that this was not a battle they could win alone. Chloe was ready for battle but Da-Wei had other plans in mind. “Chloe I know you aren’t going to like this, but I need you to go look for help. I will stay here and help as many people as I can.” Chloe was completely against the plan but she knew between the two of them, Da-Wei could probably keep his mind focused on stalling for time and not do anything rash. As they were about to part ways, a pirate came jumping behind Chloe but Da-Wei just lifted a slab from the ground and threw it at the target. “Alright, you better stay safe or else I’m going to beat you up when I return!”

Chloe swiftly left the village, further into the Archarrya Plains and into wild animal territory. She could see a figure in a distance and sped up to close the gap. As the figure became clearer, she realized the person ahead was the kind-hearted Armaan. She called out his name as loud as she could and when the sound of her voice reached his ears, he turned around in a delighted surprise. Before he could ask why she was in the area Chloe spoke rapidly. “Armaan you need to come back to the place that you just left. There are a lot of things happening and people there and stuff going on and…” He held both his hands up and signalled her to calm down and speak slowly. In her second attempt, Armaan understood that the village was under siege by pirates and Da-Wei was doing everything he could to hold the fort for reinforcement. Chloe rushed Armaan to follow her back but he did not move toward her direction.

Armaan: Sorry you are going to have to find someone else to help. I can’t go back there.

Chloe: What? Why?! The village is under attack! They need your help!

Armaan: It's not about them.

Chloe: Then what is it?

Armaan: It’s me. I never learned how to control my powers and don’t want to compound the poor reputation of my people.

Chloe: This isn’t the time for a life crisis! We got to…

She stopped mid-sentence as she sensed movement beneath the ground they were standing on. Armaan was puzzled as to why Chloe stopped talking when all of a sudden she pushed him to the ground. Out of the plains burst forth the mighty Shark-Lion looking to surprise its prey. Chloe managed to save them both from its preemptive strike but the beast continued its pursuit for its meal. Chloe noticed that Armaan was still in an emotional battle against himself so this battle was going to be all hers. She hurled a giant boulder right at the beast but it dove back into the ground. Luckily she could sense where the creature was and so she stomped the floor to create a seismic wave forcing the creature back to the surface. As it returned, Chloe hit the wildcat with a rock wave delivering a solid hit. Undeterred, the beast gathered itself up and pounced immediately at Chloe. She was beginning to feel fatigue from all the running and so she couldn’t completely dodge the pounce attack and took damage from the impact of the landing. As she attempted to get back up, the creature immediately dove back into the ground and then resurfaced right where Chloe was and forced her to take another hit. Exhausted and wounded, there was not much else she could have done. The proud beast now slowly walked toward its prey to deal the finishing blow.

However, as it walked towards her, a tiny little pebble was thrown right between its eyes. Its attention was redirected to the quivering Armaan. “Stay away! I’m warning you…” He said in hesitation. The Lion-Shark could sense fear coming from him and slowly approached its new target. Armaan tried to aim an explosion right at the beast but he couldn’t focus and missed. The combustion didn’t faze the creature at all and slowly Armaan began to stop firing them. In panic, he reached into his satchel for something to use against the beast. All he could pull out was a metal gauntlet he had received from a clan member. He threw the gauntlet at the predator who deflected it away with its paw. Now within striking distance, it began to open its jaws. Armaan closed his eyes as its jaws came down upon him.

Armaan waited but he never felt the teeth pierce his body. He opened his eyes to see that the beast had the metal gauntlet holding its jaw preventing it from closing. Looking behind the beast, he could see Chloe was the one controlling the meta glovel. She had all her focus on holding the monster’s jaws open for Armaan to escape. Armaan got out of harm’s way allowing Chloe to rest. The Shark-Lion crunched the metal and spat out the taste. “You can metal bend? Since when?” Armaan asked with great shock. “Um, since just now?” Chloe said with the same amount of surprise. Their conversation was cut short as the beast regained its focus on them. “Hey Armaan, you don’t have to fight but do you have anything else in your satchel that I can use?” She asked kindly. Armaan reached in and pulled out a metal boot that was also passed down to him from his clan. Chloe was beginning to wonder where he got all this metal from but now was not the time to ask. She re-engaged the fray running towards the shark-lion. As the beast attempted to slash her, she quickly used her metal bending on the metal boot to create a shield for herself. She successfully blocked numerous attacks but again she was beginning to tired out and she was running out of options.

Eventually, Chloe was down on one knee and she gathered all the earth around her to protect herself. Armaan watched as the beast continued to pound away at Chloe’s defenses. Finally, when it seemed as if the creature had overwhelmed Chloe’s shield, Armaan had enough.

His eyes and battle stance was completely different from before. He took a deep breath in and focused intensely on his target. As he breathed out, his explosive attack just missed the mark but it got the creature’s attention. Startled but not scared, it turned back toward Armaan and began rushing in his direction. Without budging from his spot, he let out another attack and another, one after another each causing the mighty shark lion to back away as the debris from the explosion was beginning to sting the beast. The shark lion realized it wasn’t worth the risk to continue battling and so it turned its back towards them and dove back into the ground. Armaan was ready to continue on the offensive but Chloe held him back as she could no longer sense the shark lion anywhere near them below the surface.

Armaan gave Chloe some water to allow her to regain her strength. She got back up ready to continue her efforts in looking for assistance for Da-Wei. As she was about to leave in the opposite direction, Armaan caught her attention and asked, “How did you keep on fighting even though you had no idea how you were going to win?” Chloe in her usual manner replied, “Honestly, I don’t know, all I know is that I couldn’t just give up because I got other people counting on me and I can’t let them down.” Those words reminded him how he had been fighting hard to regain honor back into his clan. As Chloe began moving away again, he spoke up, “Well what are we waiting for? Let’s go help Da-Wei!”

“You’ve got nowhere else to run kiddo.” One of the pirates taunted. Da-Wei was at a dead-end with four pirates approaching him with their weapons ready to strike. They were overconfident due to their strength in numbers but as they got closer to Da-Wei, they noticed he had a smirk on his face. “This kid has gone mad. He’s smiling when he is clearing outnumbered!” One of them yelled. All the pirates began laughing hysterically but as they were doing so, Da-Wei reached out his hand and made contact against the wall of a building near them. He caused the roof of the building to slide down and take out all the pirates that were mocking him. “Outnumbered but not outmatched!”

Da-Wei began to walk away but he didn’t notice that one of the pirates got out of the rubble and signaled for reinforcements. He forced a giant boulder to knock out the remaining pirate but he knew it was too late, more would be coming. He tried to flee the scene but in the matter of moments pirates began appearing left and right. They threw smoke pellets to reduce his sight and then teamed up against him. Although Da-Wei vision had decreased, he focused on the ground and listened for their footsteps. As he heard each pirate approaching he took them out individually using his superior earthbending maneuvers. Eventually the smoke cleared, all the pirates that had gone in the smoke were lying on the ground and Da-Wei was still standing.

“That's all you got?” Da-Wei said confidently. The pirates could feel the momentum had shifted in his favour but as they were about to retreat, they heard a creature rushing in from the distance. An eel-hound dashed in and entered the fray. It was not alone as it had a rider who was the all too familiar Lehcelmi. Her appearance rallied her troop’s morale back to normal and she charged straight at Da-Wei with the help of her mount. Da-Wei tried to create some distance between him and Lehcelmi but the eel hound was too quick. Before he could use any of his earthbending, the eel hound tackled him to the ground. As he got up Lehcelmi threw a lasso and had him tangled from the waist up with his arms against his ribs. He struggled to get back to his knees but the other pirates quickly got some iron chains and wrapped it around him. They immobilized him and prevented him from using his earthbending.

“It was a hassle losing my ship and getting all my resources back in order before finding you. However, I didn’t go through all that trouble to just get half my prize, so tell me, where is your friend?” She asked menacingly. “Look behind you.” Da-Wei replied confidently. “Ha, like I’m going to fall for…” In the midst of her sentence, explosions began to happen in mid air. All the ruckus called confusion amongst the pirates and the eel hound began to run in panic as well. That caused a big enough separation for Chloe to jump in and crush the iron chains off Da-Wei. “You can metalbend? Since when can you do that?” He said in amazement. “No time to explain.” Chloe answered swiftly. From afar he could see Armaan, “Hey Armaan you decided to come back!” He shouted out. “Hey Da-Wei! Yeah I decided…” Chloe frustrated with their yammering, “SERIOUSLY GUYS, LESS TALKING MORE BRAWLING!”

The combined power of the trio was too much for the army of raiders to handle. With Chloe’s new found metal bending abilities, Da-Wei relentless earth bending, and Armaan’s explosive bending, they were near unbeatable. They cleared the pirates out of the village but they knew not to celebrate too early because they hadn’t seen Lehcelmi in awhile. Sure enough, they heard a huge cannon fire from the entrance of the village. They ran to where they heard the impact and there was Lehcelmi and the rest of her crew preparing to fire the cannon again.

Armaan was ready to take out the cannon but before he could act, Lehcelmi pointed their attention to the distance. There were a few other cannons stationed on the outskirts of the village. Even if Armaan could take out one cannon, the other cannons would cause way too much damage to the village. The trio were demanded to surrender themselves in order to save the village. It was an aggravating dilemma, but the three were forced to let their guard down and once again held captive by the pirates.

Every crew member had left their stations and gathered near Lehcelmi. They made sure to cover Armaan’s forehead, lock up Da-Wei in metal and tie the tightest knots of rope around Chloe. Lehcelmi was ecstatic, as she now had three prisoners to add to her reward pool. She was pondering about all the prospects she could obtain through this when one of her crew members approached her about a random stranger passing by.

The stranger had a cloak around his neck and a bamboo hat on his head. The trio of benders were hoping that the stranger would turn around and save his own life but he kept walking nonchalantly towards their direction. “Hey! Turn around can’t you see this is a raid!” Yelled one of the crew members. The stranger continued as if nothing was said and so one of the pirates approached him directly with a cutlass, “Hey, are you deaf? He said…” the stranger grabs his arm and strikes him right in the gut knocking him out. That incident raised the alarm of everyone else. They all began to gather around the new challenger and surround him. However, he quickly took the smoke pellets from the pirate he knocked out and used it against them. Everyone was confused in the smokescreen and slowly one by one the pirates were getting picked off by the single fighter. After he had taken out five of them, the smoke began to clear and the pirates were in absolute shock with what had happened. Their numbers had dwindled down and somehow, the stranger was now beside Chloe and he used the cutlass he borrowed from one of the pirates to cut off her binds.

Chloe used her metal bending to free Da-Wei and they got Armaan loose as well. Lehcelmi began to rally her troops again, signaling them to rush back to the cannons. Da-wei and Chloe combined their efforts and created a giant earth wave to push themselves towards the scurrying pirates. When they were close enough they used their earth bending to sink them all beneath the ground and prevent them from escaping. Armaan used his combustion attack to obliterate the closest cannon on site. Lehcelmi rode on the eel hound and got to one of the cannons further away. She steadied the cannon to fire but this time she wasn’t aiming for the town, she was aiming for the benders.

“You three have caused me enough trouble, especially you two earthbenders! It's not worth keeping you around any longer. TAKE THIS!” The blast would have caused an explosion that could heavily damage the three benders but also all her crew members that were trapped as well. “Are you crazy? You are going to hurt your own people!” Armaan yelled but it was too late, Lehcelmi had made her decision. Armaan, Chloe and Da-Wei could have chosen to run and escape from taking heavy damage but instead Chloe and Da-Wei jumped in front of everyone and began using their combined earth bending to create a giant earth fortress to protect everyone. “Everyone brace for impact!” They shouted in unison, but the blast never came. They heard an explosion but they were all still unharmed. Confused, Da-Wei and Chloe took down their fortress and saw in the distance that the cannon had imploded on itself.

Out of the fire and ashes, a figure emerged holding Lehcelmi all tied up, it was the stranger that had freed them. They were still clueless as to who this man was and as they looked to all the pirates they could sense fear around them as they whispered things, “No, it can’t be him… I thought it was only a legend, save us!” Before the three benders could make anything out, the man was in front of them and he threw Lehcelmi towards them. Lehcelmi woke up and demanded to know who the stranger was. The stranger never replied, but as she listened to her crew’s muttering, she began to be fearful as well. “No, he is a myth, there is no way you can be him!” Chloe, Da-wei and Armaan were in complete confusion. They decided to ask the man who he was but when they turned their attention back to him, he disappeared without a trace.

The villagers slowly began to return and they had witnessed in the distance what the three heroes had done to save their town. The pirates were all arrested and taken away to prison. The money from the bounty mostly went towards repairing the damage of the town and what little was left was split between the three benders. Armaan who was considered a bad omen to the town was now celebrated and given honorary citizenship to the town. However, after all he had experienced, he realized he needed to go out and find the rest of his clan members. As for Chloe and Da-Wei, they were remembered as heroes in the small village.

The three benders met up one last time at the Acharyya plains to say their goodbyes. A lot had happened in the short span of time but they knew they would remember this experience for the rest of their lives. Armaan had grown in confidence, while Da-Wei and Chloe had unlocked new strength to continue on in their journey. They shook each other’s hands and bid each other a safe journey knowing their paths would cross again someday.

As they ventured away from the plains they heard a fiery sound from the distance. It was Master Ruthar who had finally arrived and located where they were. They ran at full speed to meet each other after having been separated for a length of time. Da-Wei and Chloe rapidly summarized everything that had happened in their adventures emphasizing on the people they had met: Lehcelmi, Armaan and the random stranger. Ruthar recognized right away that the person they were talking about was Eric. Da-wei and Chloe were in shock that their master knew such a person. “Oh yeah, we go way back, as a matter of fact, let me tell you about some of the stories I have of him…”
