Pokemon Rebellion

Chapter 1

< Previous chapterNext chapter >

The world of pokemon as you have known it, is filled with types of pokemon roaming the land, the sea and the sky. Many are wild and up for grabs so long as a trainer is prepared to take on such a creature with his/her companion. Explorers would roam the land searching for new pokemon to battle and to obtain. Once captured, such pokemon would accompany the trainer as part of their team. It was an unspoken pact between trainer and pokemon. Pokemon battles were a sight to behold as trainers and their pokemon work together in competition of speed, strength, skill and mind.

For a long time that was how everything was, but one day, the pokemon began to act more hostile to their trainers. They would disobey their trainer and eventually escalate to even attacking them. A great war broke out between people and pokemon which lasted years. Many lives were lost on both sides and still no victor had been decided.

With both sides heavily wounded, there was a temporary ceasefire where the pokemon ran and hid into the Forbidden Forest. Meanwhile, the humans stayed in their city and began to rebuild their life. In response, they constructed a giant wall that stretched throughout their city. It was made to endure the most powerful attacks that could come from a pokemon. And so for years humans and pokemon lived apart from each other without interfering with one another’s lives, until now.

Sergeant Duncan: What’s the situation commander?

Commander Jovan: We are being attacked on the front sir! Onyx and Golems are slamming hard against the wall.

Sergeant Duncan: Keep holding them back, we can’t let them breach the wall!

Corporal Gursehaj: Captain! They are hitting us with an aerial assault. Fearows and Beedrills inbound!

Sergeant Duncan: For the love of… Get some support…

Random Soldier: YEEEEOOWWWW! HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT!

Sergeant Duncan: Hey you! (grabs man on the arm) What’s the matter with you? We are fighting a battle here, not running from a haunted house!

Private Gurshaan: Sorry sir, but my squad just encountered a horde of Houndooms. They are melting our defense with their flamethrower attacks.

Commander Jovan: It's looking pretty grim out there captain. Much of our forces are severely injured and they continue to press.

Private Gurshaan: What do we do captain?

Sergeant Duncan: (Takes a deep breath) Well, let’s give them a fight they won’t forget. (draws his sword) CHARGE!

And so the four warriors charged forward away from the wall to divert the pokemon’s attention from the city. They went as far as they could, entering into the Forbidden Forest before they stood in defensive formation guarding one another’s back. They held strong for as long as they could but unfortunately one of them broke their formation. “Gursehaj, what are you doing? We need to stick together!” yelled Jovan. “Sorry but this is crazy, I ain’t risking my life any longer. See ya!” and he ran away from the battle making his way towards the city.

Most of the pokemon still had their attention on the remaining three warriors. Gursehaj was still well away from exiting the forest so he decided to hide in an opening under a giant tree and allow the battle to subside before sneaking back to safety. He was quite the cunning fellow but unfortunately his trickery could not deceive the nose of the Houndoom. They caught his scent and a group of them along with a squadron of Fearow came to attack him. “NOOOOOOO!” was the last that was heard of him.

Sergeant Duncan, Commander Jovan, and Private Gurshaan were near the end of their energy tank. They were breathing heavily and barely standing up against a number of foes. Onyxes circled around them preventing their escape, Fearows were hovering about ready to strike from the air and Beedrills were ready to sting them. “It was an honor to fight beside the both of you.” said a valiant Gurshaan. Jovan echoed a similar message to them both. Shortly after, both Gurshaan and Jovan fainted in the midst of battle. Leaving Duncan the lone man standing but in due time, he also began to fall to one knee and he could feel his consciousness slowly starting to fade.

Having not faint yet, Duncan could see the pokemon slowly approaching his direction to finish the trio off. However, the pokemon were stopped in their track by some mysterious figures. Duncan couldn’t see clearly what was going on but the pokemon were stepping aside and allowing a group of people to approach them. That was the last thing he could see as he closed his eyes, meaning him and his two comrades were completely vulnerable to anyone who approached. They were carried off by the mysterious people without anyone in the city knowing what had happened to these brave warriors.
